The Pilipinas Monitoring and Evaluation Society (PMES) conducted the PMES Results-Based Management and Monitoring and Evaluation Workshop on Saturday, 28 September 2013 at the Astoria Plaza in Escriva Drive, Ortigas, Pasig City. Over 40 individual and organization participants representing a healthy mix of backgrounds and experiences attended the event facilitated by PMES President Ricky Lozari. New PMES members were also sworn in during the event.
The Results-Based Management and Monitoring and Evaluation Workshop is the banner capacity building program of the PMES. It is meant to refresh members, and introduce non-members, to results-based management, monitoring and evaluation and the process of developing monitoring and evaluation systems. The workshop is designed as a one-day intensive program that combines lectures with participant activities and is the foundation program upon which more advanced learning programs conducted by the Pilipinas Monitoring and Evaluation Society are based.
Pilipinas Monitoring and Evaluation Society is the only industry association registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission genuinely committed to the development of monitoring and evaluation professionals in the Philippines. It believes in the multi-disciplinary nature of monitoring and evaluation and encourages participation of individuals from different professions to foster exchange of knowledge on how monitoring and evaluation is done in various fields, and encourage sharing of tools and practices to maximize cross learning. It began in August 2007 as an initiative of five monitoring and evaluation practitioners who sought to create an online network for exchanging ideas and information about monitoring and evaluation and the monitoring and evaluation profession in the country.
