The Pilipinas Monitoring and Evaluation Society (PMES) conducted a successful introductory workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) as part of its its banner capacity building event – the PMES Workshop Series. Held last 7 November 2015 (Saturday) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Sequoia Hotel, 91 Mother Ignacia Avenue corner Timog Avenue,Quezon City the workshop entitled “Fundamentals of Monitoring and Evaluation”, was attended by 36 professionals representing government agencies, non government organizations, multilateral and bilateral development partners, academe and the private sector.
The workshop was intended for PMES members and other professionals who are interested in results based management (RBM) and the art and science of M&E. It aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to monitor and evaluate policies, programs, projects and activities implemented by public, private and civil society organizations.
The workshop provided basic knowledge in RBM and M&E meant to help participants deliver sustainable results. Participants also learned about the Theory of Change (ToC) and M&E framework (MEF) – two vital tools of RBM. To help participants better understand how M&E works in practice, this workshop also discussed a special topic on M&E, particularly M&E for organizational development. Participants were taught the the principles, application and process of conducting an organization assessment (OA) and relate OA results with RBM and M&E.
